The huge increase in environmental awareness over the last decade has resulted
in government restrictions on operations in ports and terminals around the
world. Port expansion
and new terminal developments come with serious environmental
considerations, and if not executed properly, plans can be turned
down costing companies millions of dollars. Sound emissions, and more
importantly, exhaust emissions are causing considerable damage to the
environment, challenging ports and terminals to develop and implement their own
environmental strategies.
We are delighted to announce that the opening remarks
will
be given by
Dr. Geraldine Knatz
Executive Director, Port of Los Angeles
Dr. Knatz was instrumental in the creation and implementation of the San
Pedro Bay Ports Clean Air Action Plan
